Arsenal devises a player-exchange strategy to persuade Manchester City to sell attacker

Arsenal are reportedly preparing a trade for Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling.

Despite his heroics for England at Euro 2020, Sterling has been relegated to the Etihad bench. He’s had to put up with substitute cameos, which is insufficient for a player of his caliber at this point in his career.

If the situation remains the same throughout the season, Sterling is likely to leave Man City next summer, especially since he’ll be looking to retain his starting spot in England’s XI ahead of the World Cup in 2022.

According to Fichajes, Arsenal is one club that could provide him with an escape route – as well as the option of returning to London, where the England star was raised as a child.

However, if the information in the report is correct, the Gunners will have a difficult time convincing Man City to part ways with Sterling because their alleged strategy is rather perplexing.

According to Fichajes, Arsenal will offer Man City the choice of Alexandre Lacazette, William Saliba, and Gabriel Martinelli in exchange for Sterling. You have to wonder if the champions would be interested in ANY of the three.

Arsenal may simply be brainstorming creative ways to get Sterling through the door without breaking the bank, but you have to imagine that this player exchange proposal will fall woefully short of City’s expectations.
