According to 90min, Fulham are nearing an agreement to capture Cedric from Arsenal on a permanent basis.

The Portugal international joined Arsenal on loan from Southampton in the middle of the 2019-20 season, with the transfer turning permanent at the start of the 2020-21 season.

However, Cedric has been a bit-part player at the Emirates Stadium and has only appeared four times in all competitions so far this season.

He was included in Portugal’s preliminary World Cup roster of 55 players, but did not make the final cut.

Sources tell 90min that he is close to completing a transfer to Fulham, reuniting with compatriot Marco Silva after a brief overlap during their respective stints at Sporting CP.

Silva lamented the lack of transfer activity ahead to the beginning of the season, but Fulham was able to acquire Issa Diop, Carlos Vinicius, and Willian. Bernd Leno, a former teammate of Cedric’s, has also signed with Arsenal.

Bobby Decordova-Reid, a natural striker, has spent the majority of the season at right back for Fulham, with summer signing Kevin Mbabu frequently being overlooked by manager Silva.
