Antony names Manchester United teammate he spends most time with
Antony is relishing his life in Manchester and spending ample time with a fellow Brazilian player. The skillful winger, who joined Manchester United from Ajax under Erik ten Hag’s guidance last year, has exhibited moments of brilliance during his debut season, and we firmly believe that his true potential is yet to be fully realized.
Nonetheless, many pundits have been unduly critical of Antony, disregarding the fact that this is his inaugural season in the Premier League.
He consistently demonstrates determination, whether it be in engaging in physical battles or pushing forward with the ball into attacking zones.
In an interview with the club’s media outlet (as reported by ManUtd.com), the Brazilian international discusses his off-field adaptation and adjustments.
“I feel like I’ve settled in and grown accustomed to the city of Manchester,” Antony says.
“There are quite a few Brazilians here. Me and Casemiro are always hanging out, we’re always doing something.
“I’ve settled into the city and I’m loving life here. I hope I can spend a long time here.”
Although Antony has a good relationship with Casemiro, he also credits Fred, another South American player, and World Cup champion Lisandro Martinez for aiding him in settling into life at Manchester United. Additionally, he makes a point of acknowledging the contributions of Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, and David de Gea.
He added: “Definitely [knowing Casemiro, Fred and Martinez helped], and not just those guys, but Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot [have helped] as well.
“They’ve helped me a lot, as has our keeper, David [De Gea]. Having this support, being able to get advice from them, have them show me around and introduce me to things means a great deal.
“I’m really happy to have been welcomed in like this by all the players here.”
