Antonio Rudiger picks his next club after Chelsea, setting a good example for others to follow

According to reports, Antonio Rudiger has a preference for his next destination if he does not sign a new contract with Chelsea.

Chelsea are currently concerned about Rudiger’s future. His contract is set to expire at the end of the season, putting them at risk of losing him.

He has made a comeback since the appointment of Thomas Tuchel, who is eager to keep him. However, as things currently stand, the defender will be able to walk away for nothing in 2022.

As a result, there has been a lot of interest in the Germany international. According to a recent report, the number of clubs interested in him is five. Juventus, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in signing him.

Rudiger, who will turn 29 in March, is aware that he is about to make the most important decision of his career. He has, however, denied any discussions with clubs other than his current employers.

Nonetheless, reports in Europe indicate that he has a preference for his next step.

Rudiger has already decided not to renew his contract with Chelsea, according to Marca,. The Blues are only offering him €6.5 million per season, but he wants €10 million.

As a result, he is looking for his next club – and two names come to mind. He would prefer to join Bayern Munich or Real Madrid next.

A move to Bayern would be a return to his native Germany’s Bundesliga, where he last played for Stuttgart in 2017.

Alternatively, joining Real would be a completely new challenge for him, as he has never played in La Liga before. And, for the time being, that appears to be the most likely solution.

Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann refused to comment on any interest in Rudiger last week. Hasan Salihamidzic, the club’s director of sport, went even further, listing the several strong options already available to the Bundesliga champions, implying that they don’t need anyone else.

Madrid, on the other hand, is looking for reinforcements in their backline. They lost Sergio Ramos to PSG and Raphael Varane to Manchester United over the summer, and only brought in one replacement. That was David Alaba, who they got for free; Marca believes they’ll do the same with Rudiger.

In an ideal world, Los Blancos would be looking for a younger long-term replacement. However, given their financial constraints, a deal for the Chelsea player may make the most financial sense.

If the west London club cannot persuade Rudiger to stay, they will have to consider how to replace him.
