Antonio Conte praised Alisson by stating that the goalkeeper was Liverpool’s best player on Sunday against Tottenham Hotspur.

Liverpool traveled to North London and brought all three points back to Merseyside.

Mohamed Salah gave the Reds an early lead before the Egyptian capitalized on a horrible error by Eric Dieter.

Harry Kane did score for Tottenham in the second half, but despite intense pressure, Spurs were unable to equalize.

Tottenham performed better in the second half, especially after Dejan Kulusevski returned from injury and came off the bench.

The Swede offers so much to Tottenham’s attack, and Liverpool saw his instant influence on Kane with an assist.

After Kane’s goal, Tottenham was unable to get an equalizer and was unable to defeat Alisson.

Alisson recorded four stops and four clearances, clearing the backline in addition to making the usual saves.

Alisson was almost dispossessed by Harry Kane after he dallied too long with the ball after receiving it.

Antonio Conte, the head coach of Tottenham, was impressed by Alisson’s overall performance.

Conte told Football London that he was pleased with the quantity of opportunities Tottenham made despite their loss to Liverpool.

Conte noted that Tottenham’s Ivan Perisic hit the crossbar before claiming that Alisson was Liverpool’s “best player” on the day.

The Italian noted that Tottenham performed well against Liverpool despite their current injury woes, thinking they are capable of playing “excellent football” in the final third.

“We created chances in the first half and we hit the post,” said Conte. “We created an open goal and we wanted to create difficulties to Liverpool. In the dressing room I can tell you that I didn’t say anything negative to my players. I said we need to continue this way. We’re 2-0 down but we need to move the ball with same intensity and with the wing-backs we can create problems.”

“We hit the bar, and we scored and I think Alisson was the best player for Liverpool. The result is a disappointment. We have to take the example for the players. Despite having many missing players but we showed we can play good football and take on a team like Liverpool,” he added.

Alisson is undoubtedly the finest goalkeeper in the Premier League, and most teams will have trouble against him.

The praise from Antonio Conte is flattering for Alisson, and the Liverpool goalkeeper will soon be aiming to display his abilities as Brazil’s starting goalkeeper at the World Cup.
