Antonio Conte admits he changed his mind on front three after Man City match postponement
As a result of the postponement of last weekend’s match against Manchester City, Antonio Conte has changed his mind about which front three to play next.
All Premier League matches were postponed as a mark of respect following the passing of Her Majesty the Queen, just days before Tottenham were scheduled to play Man City on the road.
While Conte likely had a formation and starting lineup in mind for the match against Pep Guardiola’s squad, it appears unlikely that he will stick with that lineup for todays match against Sporting Lisbon.
Conte has left Dejan Kulusevski on the bench for the last two games against Marseille and Fulham, despite the fact that he made a significant contribution off the bench in the first of those contests.
The Swede was also a standout in last year’s 3-2 away victory against Manchester City.
Conte confirmed in his pre-match press conference that his lineup selections varied from game to game, so it remains to be seen which three players he selects today
He said (Football London): “I have the possibility to pick three important players and know I have a player on the bench ready to come on and help us.
“Against Marseille, it was 0-0 and I decided to put Deki on to the pitch and also to keep the three strikers on to be attacking.
“The postponed game allows me to make a different decision. Against Man City, I would have played with certain players but now I change things in my mind.”.
