Ansu Fati makes feelings clear with his reaction to Man Utd transfer interest

Ansu Fati has no plans to leave Barcelona despite Manchester United interest.

The youngster has been linked with a move away from the Nou Camp, but he is determined to become a key contributor under Xavi.

Fati was the only Barcelona player to have appeared in every game this season prior to being left on the bench for the entirety of the team’s victory at Villarreal.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Xavi has frequently used Fati off the bench, but instead of weighing his options, the Spanish international wants to compete for a starting position.

The attacking options available to Barcelona include Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres, and Raphinha.

Since Fati’s contract is valid until 2027, Barcelona is in a strong position to retain the 20-year-old defender.

There is considerable interest in the forward, but he is intent on helping the Catalans regain the LaLiga championship, as they currently lead Real Madrid.

Jorge Mendes is instrumental in determining Fati’s future, but he maintains a close relationship with Barcelona’s head coach, Joan Laporta.

United’s interest is well-known, and any decision on the player’s next move is expected to be made at the end of the season.

Old Trafford is seeking to strengthen its attacking options. Erik ten Hag has yet to acquire a natural No. 9; Fati would not solve this issue, but he would add to the squad’s existing talent.

Antony was signed during the summer, but he has yet to live up to his price tag as a wide forward.

Laporta has recently been quizzed on Fati’s future and said: “He is a Barça player, in whom we have high hopes and we have no news that his agent wants to do anything.” Fati is keen to get more minutes having seen players of a similar age, namely Pedri and Gavi, become mainstays in the starting XI.

Fati said earlier this season: “Yes, it’s true that I expected that I would play more. I want to play but I understand that the coach is the one who decides, and I have to give my best every day to be able to turn it around.”

Xavi has said on his young forward: “Things will work out for him, we have to be patient, he is a spectacular asset for the club, we trust him a lot, he is working very well, he has a tremendous mentality in training, but we need to be patient. He is 20 years old and needs time, like everyone else. This is not the time to talk about sales.”
