‘Also preparing’: Fabrizio Romano reveals Arsenal are about to bid for another Brazilian superstar, with Marquinhos deal now done
According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal is prepared to make an official opening bid for Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus.
This summer, Jesus has emerged as the primary attacking target for Mikel Arteta and Edu, with the Brazilian forward poised to be pushed out at Man City by the arrival of Erling Haaland.
Indeed, rumours stated weeks ago that Arsenal were in advanced talks with Jesus, albeit nothing has come of it since.
And, according to Fabrizio Romano, the reason we haven’t heard anything is that no official bid for Jesus has yet been received.
However, Romano verified an Arsenal proposal for Gabriel Jesus on his Twitter account earlier today.
Arsenal have reached full agreement with São Paulo to sign Brazilian winger Marquinhos, born in 2003. Done deal, set to be signed – contract until June 2027. Fee will be around €3.5m guaranteed. 🇧🇷 #AFC

…and Arsenal are also preparing their opening bid for Gabriel Jesus.
According to the tweet, a bid for Jesus is on the way after the Gunners reportedly agreed to terms with another Brazilian, Marquinhos. The kid from Sao Paulo has agreed to terms with Arsenal until 2027.
While the signing of Marquinhos will excite Arsenal fans, the bid for Jesus will pique their curiosity even more.
For a long time, Arsenal fans have hoped for the arrival of a new striker. Dusan Vlahovic chose to join Juventus over Arsenal in January.
Arsenal fans will stand in the way of this trade being completed. The Vlahovic trade will have left some scars, and they’ll want the board to close this one soon.
Of course, Jesus would be a fantastic addition for Arsenal right now. Mikel Arteta sees him as a proven Premier League goal-scorer who is still young enough to improve.
Arsenal requires a successful summer in order to bring in the proper players. Signing Gabriel Jesus would be a great place to start.
