Although Manchester United have enjoyed an away 20 games unbeaten run after a draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, the Red Devils have failed to score any goal against the big six opposition in a six consecutive premier league match. A A top quality striker is missing in the team.

Bruno Fernande’s penalty goal late in October when Manchester United was demolished 6-1 by Mourinho’s Tottenham was the only goal Ole Gunnar mean have scored against the top six opponents in seven this season.

According to Jamie Carragher, Manchester United lacks a top-class centre forward striker who can take them to the next level. Describing Ole Gunnar as a defensive manager who played for Manchester United in an attacking team over years, he believes an injection of quality level Spurs striker Harry Kane or Dortmund’s talisman Erling Haaland is mandatory if Red Devils title aspirations are real.

Although Manchester United players are the top scorers in the Premier League, Jamie believes that they lack that player who can score decisive goals in decisive games to lead them to the league title.

The lack of quality according to Carragher can be solved by a centre forward rather than a right-winger. Jamie admits that although United need a right-winger, they need a centre forward more. He believes if Red Devils had Rashford on the left with Greenwood on the right combining with a new quality centre forward, then the issue of quality would be solved.

Mark Hughes, a former Manchester United striker also believes none of the forward players at his former club has shown enough desire. He believes his former team has got top quality players at the top end of the pitch but he is on the opinion that they needed to have gotten someone like Edison Cavani five years ago when he was on top of his game. He
however, was quick to admit Cavani’s outstanding performance but says Manchester United got Cavani at the wrong time.
