A report suggests that Tottenham play Leicester at King Power Stadium instead

A report suggests that Tottenham play Leicester at King Power Stadium instead.

The Athletic stated that London clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, could be required to play away from home during the upcoming weekend.

As a mark of respect for Her Majesty following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday, the Premier League has canceled all weekend matches.

The Leicester Mercury reported this morning that there are concerns over inadequate resources for enforcement and security at football events, particularly in London.

It is unknown whether gameweek 7 will proceed as scheduled.

Saturday, September 17 at 5.30 p.m. at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Spurs will face Leicester City.

The Athletic has discovered that while Premier League clubs are hopeful of returning to action next weekend, there is dispute over where the matches will be played.

It is informed that games in the capital are at risk due to the imminent redeployment of police officers to assist with the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

One potential alternative under consideration would include London clubs playing away from their home venues next weekend.

However, The Athletic reports that this proposal is unlikely to gain traction because clubs would only have one week to employ the necessary staff and sell tickets for a new home game.

More Premier League games remain at risk of being postponed, according to the report, but fixtures outside of London will not be affected next weekend.
