‘A decision for the club”- Conte delivers verdict on Manchester United target’s future at Tottenham

As time passes, the possibility of Harry Kane remaining at Tottenham becomes increasingly uncertain, as there are rumors linking him to a possible transfer to Manchester United in the summer.

Sky Sports reports that although Manchester United is interested in Kane, they recognize that it may be difficult to secure a deal.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur intends to retain the services of the English player and extend his contract beyond 2024.

Despite being one of the club’s greatest players and the all-time leading scorer at the age of 29, Kane has yet to win any major trophies with Spurs, and as another season draws to a close without any silverware, he may face a difficult decision.

Antonio Conte gives verdict on Harry Kane’s Tottenham future amid Manchester United transfer links

Antonio Conte, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, has shared his opinion on Harry Kane’s future with the club.

During a pre-match press conference before the upcoming Premier League game against Southampton on 18 March, the former Italy national team coach stated (as reported by @FabrizioRomano) his thoughts on the matter.

“For sure the club wants to involve Harry Kane for the rest of his career. Then you know football, sometimes it’s unpredictable — it’s not in my role to make a decision. This is a decision for the club and for Harry.”

These remarks appear to be coming from a man who isn’t concerned about the club’s future beyond this season, possibly because he doesn’t intend to extend his contract.

The current contract of the Italian coach is set to expire this summer, and there haven’t been any indications of a contract renewal so far. This situation may cause concern for top players like Harry Kane, as it creates uncertainty about who will be in charge of the team next season.

If Conte is dedicated to Tottenham’s objectives, then he should take the lead and extend his contract. By doing so, he would demonstrate a strong commitment to the project and send a message to players like Kane that he believes in their potential.

If the ex-Chelsea manager decides to leave, other players may follow suit and seek opportunities elsewhere. When we talk about greener pastures, we refer to the pursuit of trophies, which Harry Kane has yet to achieve.
