94% Pass Accuracy, 9/9 Duels Won: 22-year-old displays justifies why Manchester United should consider free agent move

Boubacar Kamara is a free agent this summer, and the 22-year-old is continuing to demonstrate why  Manchester United  should consider signing him.

United  had Kamara on their list of defensive midfielders the club should examine last summer.

In January, The Athletic reported that Manchester United were keeping an eye on him.

With his contract at Marseille expiring, Kamara was offered to United at the end of the transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano, but United refused, choosing to wait until the summer.

Given that Boubacar Kamara is available for free, albeit with a signing-on fee, agency fees, pay demands, and so on, waiting for him may have paid off if United win the race this summer.

However, it is uncertain whether Kamara is high on United’s priority list. According to a story in The Mail this week, Aston Villa have made fresh inquiries in an attempt to outbid bigger teams for his signature.

Kamara continues to play an important part for Marseille, which lost in the Europa Conference League finals this week to Feyenoord.

He had to fill in at center-back in this game. He made a strong comeback at the weekend, demonstrating his versatility in midfield.

Kamara played 90 minutes in Marseille’s 3-0 win over Lorient, and he was powerful in midfield.

Manchester United’s performance at Brighton on Saturday evening was the polar opposite.

Kamara touched the ball 89 times and completed 72 of 77 passes in helping his team retain a clean sheet in the away triumph (94 percent ).

He also won nine of nine ground duels, which is crucial given that Scott McTominay won none of the nine fought in United’s loss to Brighton.

Kamara also had three tackles, one interception, two clearances, four fouls, and five ball recoveries. It was a strong defensive performance from a young defensive midfielder.

This season, Kamara stands in the top ten in Ligue 1 for passes into the final third and overall touches, demonstrating both quality in possession and tenacity off the ball.

Although the youngster’s contract is expiring, he is certainly determined to give his all this season.

Kamara is finding a way to inspire himself, whether for the team or to secure a move, and that should be appreciated.

Manchester United would be foolish not to sign Kamara on a free transfer. That is why it is unlikely to occur.

If United signs Aurelien Tchouameni, Kalvin Phillips, Edson Alvarez, Joao Palhinha, or any other defensive midfielder, the fee will be much more. Perhaps they are superior.

However, United may double down by signing Kamara on a free transfer.

This is in a position where United were already thin before Nemanja Matic announced his departure.

Having two defensive midfielders may appear greedy, but it is actually wise, given the possibility of injuries and the desire not to overplay the number one option.

A move for Kamara would be astute. He’s a promising young player who, at 22, is still in his prime. A wise club will make this move this summer. We’ll see if United are clever.
