“90% Complete…” Reporter reveals United are now closing in on deal for South American star
According to journalist Pedro Almeida, Manchester United is “pushing” hard to capture Ajax winger Antony.
According to the Portuguese journalist, the Brazilian international has already “advised” his club that he wants to rejoin his old manager Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, and a deal is close to being completed:
Taking to Twitter, the Portuguese journalist wrote “Manchester United is seriously pushing Ajax to sign #Antony, the player has already informed Dutch club that he wants join English club and at the moment the transfer is 90% complete.”

It should be noted that Almeida isn’t the most trustworthy source, so this information should be taken with a grain of salt.
Nonetheless, a number of other journalists have corroborated United’s actual interest in Antony.
Other clubs, including Chelsea and Liverpool, have scouted the 22-year-old, but the Red Devils appear to be the favourites to sign him.
The winger is reported to be on ten Hag’s list of objectives as he attempts to enhance his attacking options.
However, for the time being, the major focus remains on bringing in at least one midfielder, with speculation that the club would also prioritise bringing in a centre-half and a right-back.
