‘100 per cent’: ‘Amazing’ Arsenal star says he’ll score in the Europa League for the first time ever today
Gabriel Jesus of Arsenal has vowed to end his goal drought by declaring that he will “100 per cent’” score against PSV Eindhoven in today’s Europa League match.
The Gunners need only one point to secure the group’s top spot. This evening’s match against PSV in the Netherlands will not be easy, but Jesus is certain that his team will prevail.
Jesus has undoubtedly been the greatest player for Arsenal since the beginning of the season.
The Gunners spent £45 million (Goal) to get the talented Brazilian from Manchester City in the summer, and he has begun the season in spectacular fashion.
Since scoring in the North London Derby at the beginning of the month, though, Jesus appears to have misplaced his shooting boots.
The 25-year-old has now gone five games in all competitions without scoring, which has caused some Gunners fans concern.
Jesus, described as “amazing” by Kieran Tierney (Daily Mail), has stated that he does not wish to be in this position.
Before declaring that he will certainly score against PSV today, he committed to improve.
He said, as relayed on HaytersTV: “That has happened before and I’m pretty sure in the future, it is going to happen again. That’s football.
“I don’t want it to be like this, of course. I want to improve, I want to work, like always in my life, and then next game, I will try again.
“I’m 100 per cent sure I will score.”
If Jesus fulfills his promise and scores against PSV today, it will be his first Europa League goal ever.
